Switching to dubias

jason Aug 11, 2010 09:16 PM

I decided to start dabbling in leos again after a long absence (remember back when you could sell a CB normal for like 50 bucks? That long).

I just picked up a group of yearlings that have been raised on crickets and mealworms. I breed Blaptica dubia and Blaberus fusca, and i intend on using dubia as a food source for them. Do they typically switch over fairly well? So far they seem uninterested, though I imagine they had a pretty rotten few days with being stuck in a box and shipped here.

I always remember my leos eating everything in their path, so i was just curious.

I switched many of mine over from crickets, and they were thrilled

For some reasons, leo's love dubias! Mine attack me when I try to feed them the roaches... lol

I would definitely feed them crickets and meal worms for a few days while they settle in. Then try the switch. Most leos will eat anything if kept properly, but ive dealt with some picky ones.
