Dumerils Boa Giving Birth

Paul_D Aug 18, 2010 06:04 PM

My Dumerils Boa Cleopatra had her first litter today, and I was lucky enough to be here when it happened. She had 2.2 babies and no stillborn.

Here is a group photo I snapped. See if you can find all the heads

I was also able to record some of the babies coming out. More footage to come later.

Congratulations!!! I'd say you got lucky getting to watch them being born. In over 20 years of working with them, I've only been able to catch one female giving birth from start to finish. It's recorded, on 8mm or some ancient camcorder style tape, lol. Now, the hard part comes....keep or sell???? Congrats again, take care

I was about to head out the door, then I noticed Cleopatra crawling around kinda funny. I quickly figured out what was going on, and put my plans on hold. I'd love to keep all the babies, but I know I should let a few of them find new homes
