I bred a male licorice black rat to a bairds rat. I call them pirate ratsnakes haha. My goal is to eventually produce a white sided bairds w/ very little black rat in the mix 12.5% etc. 3 out and 8 to go.
This probably belongs in the ratsnake forum but no.
Very interesting-I wonder how much black pigment they'll pick up as they age. If the corn/bairds hybrids I've seen are any indication, there could be a lot of variation in the appearance of the adults.
I'll post updates, I kept a pair.
