Cleopatra Litter Individual Baby Pics

Paul_D Aug 20, 2010 04:22 PM

Cleopatra dropped her first litter of Dumerils Boas two days ago and I finally got around to taking individual pictures of the babies. I did my best to get the color accurate, but some of them were pretty squirmy and didn't feel like waiting for me to get the lighting just right. I hope you all enjoy. The first two pictures for each baby are without flash, and the third is with flash.

Cool, they look good. I missed another litter tonight, lol. Came home from a wedding and a new litter was just starting to shed. They were still slimy, but mom was done.

Nice, how many babies did she have?

She only had 5 babies this time and 2 slugs. Still waiting on a couple more from breedings that I was really wanting to take, so hopefully those go well. One has already had her pre-birth shed and the other is in shed now. I'll try to post up some pics of these babies. They came out pretty average though.

In your experience, what's been the average litter size for your Dumerils?

Lovely pair of adults! Your Cleopatra reminds me of my male.

I really like how you've included pictures of the babies in different lighting too. It really gives a much better idea what they look like. I love seeing all the fresh baby whites!

Thanks, I'm really happy with how her first litter turned out. It was interesting to note that the females were born larger with slightly more color than the males. The females also have bellies that are almost completely white like their mom.
