vanishing line eastern

found a brown with redish speckle eastern garter snake with a vanishing dorsal line.sorry no picture.if i breed this and breed the babies back to it will this refine the color?

it could just be a pattern variation... garter snakes come in all sorts of shades, stripes and colors. breed it, raise the babies up, and breed em back to the original... who knows, could be genetic.

I agree with Mike. About an hour from here there's a population of Easterns where most of them have vanishing stripes:

A few of them have the red flecking you're talking about as well:

It could make for a nice selective breeding project for stripeless "high color" Easterns.
