Phenominal Hypo Checkereds Born Today!

asnakelovinbabe Aug 30, 2010 08:33 PM

I had a surprise litter today from my albino checkered female. She hid it very well, she is a big girl and this is a small clutch, so that's how she got away with it! I am not a bit fan of albino check's, but this female in particular is so packed with yellow that I have kept her just because she is exceptionally colorful and pretty. I had her together with my male hypo for one night at the beginning of breeding season, then decided I wanted him to focus on Marcy, my normal green female. Looks like he got the job done on both girls anyways! Marcy has not had her babies yet, but since these have been born I cannot wait to see them!!!

two albinos were kinked really badly so I froze them. That was my first time ever dealing with kinked babies.

From this small clutch I got some excellent odds:

2.2 hypo's
1.0 hybino (identifiable by his labial markings, head pattern and extra contrast)
0.2 albino's
0.1 normal

I am keeping this girl!

The darkest headed hypo with his normal sister

The 4 hypos

a normal albino

The hybino... Sunglow?!?!

Marking comparisons with crappy pictures... top two are normals, bottom two are hypo's!

sweeeet stuff!
good looking little clutch of babies, I love the variety. And that hybino, if that is what it is, is super nice looking.
do you still have that albino brown snake?

Love those hypos, SLB! I know talk of a "super" is controversial, but I had one born this season that makes me think of that word-I'll put up a pic later.....
