I have 2 tokay geckos, one has always been thin (Joker), has been dewormed, seemed fine, the other (Dalton) was almost fat when I got him, but hides all the time, I look under his "hide" to be sure he is alive, but really never see him! they were set up in super plush, mossy, homes, and one day a couple weeks ago Dalton was out of his hide and had lost a bunch of wt! I took a closer look at Joker, and hes thinner too!
changed the set up to bare min (separate cages as always)so I can keep an eye on how much they eat, ect, will get a wt on them and deworm tomorrow, temps have not changed, 85-87 day, 76 night, they are in my "tropical room" humidity is high, no problems shedding.
don't know that age of either (both rescues) they could just be getting old, but it worries me they both lost wt at the same time :{
will be seeing my herp vet friend this week and talk to him, but any other ideas welcome!

How long have you had these guys?

How much and of what are you feeding?

I feed my guy about 10-20 1/4 to 5/8" cockroaches every 2-3 days or whenever his dish is empty. He's a growing yearling, so that's a comparison for you anyhow.

Wish I could be of more help. How gung-ho are you going to persue diagnostics right off the bat?

they get 5-10 crickets whenever it looks like the cage is empty, usually every other or 3rd day. I would love to do everything for them, but was laid off in jan and haven't found any more then relief work here and there, so I'm broke, its not going to happen right now...
