I stopped keeping C. bicinctores in captivity because I live very close to their range and can view them in their natural settings. Here's a hatchling that let me get pretty close.

another shot

It started to get hot in the natural sun so here's apic of it cooling down in the shade of a cactus

Another hatchling on a different day but same general area

Another hatchling seen running on it's hind legs with a grasshopper in it mouth. It was almost as if the grasshopper was flying and the lizard was hangin on by its mouth. It drops the grasshopper to tank a rest in this photo

The grasshopper laying there with it's head nearly bit off moves and the little lizard pounches on it

It drops the grasshopper to get a better grip, then grabs it again and runs off into the brush on it's hind legs

Pic of the 1st hatchling posted about 2 weeks later on the same rock. Hope I can continue to visit these guys for years to come.

another shot of this friendly hatchling

This is the best way to view animals IMO. Great pictures! thanks!
So good to see the kind of prey wild baby collareds will attack. Says a lot about their hunting behavior in the field. Your pix are a really valuable window into the workings of the wild world. I hope you get your wish and enjoy the company of these wonderful lizards for years to come (and maybe we can share
Cute kids, nice pics Will love to see their natural habitat :0)
BUT... as COOL as it is to see these lizards in the wild, I always notice though these wc kids are loaded with mites and look so thin. :0(
