Texas questions....legality?

RandJ Sep 30, 2010 11:19 AM

Well we leave next weds for our excursion south through kansas, oklahoma and down to parker county texas.
A few more questions....
This time of the year and with the GORGEOUS weather planned for next week is road cruising still productive in texas?
Also I see mentioning of laws involving road "hunting".
Is cruising against the law or is say flipping rocks on a road cut illegal also? What about off the road ways?
thanks for any help..................Rome

I'd suggest you do some reading on the alterna forum. It is currently illegal to manipulate or collect any herps on the road or right-of-way. Reading some of the posts and responses on the forum I suggested will give you a better idea of what's going on.

Good luck!

I would NOT worry about this law in Parker County. Chances are, the law enforcement around there is not even clear on the law if they even know it exists. The ONLY place i have ever heard of this law being enforced is in alterna country. I live in Taylor county (between Parker county and alterna country) And still road cruise on a regular basis. This time of year for road cruising in that area you will most likely see atrox and some babies of other species.
