keeping male sulcatas together

spencerwhitt1 Oct 23, 2010 10:04 PM

I have two male sulcata tortoises. One I have had for about ten years. and the other I just, I found him walking down the side of the highway. I was wondering if it is possible to keep two males together. The area I have to keep them in is 30ft X 15ft with lots of room to dig separate burrows if they want to. Also the new one I have has very severe pyramiding. They are currently separate so I can check to see if the new one develops any further problems. I also live in south Florida so keeping them out side all year is not a problem. Please help with my questions. It will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Spencer

Sometimes two males will fight and turn one another over to die in the sun. This species is known for territorial behavior. I would seperate them for safety and avoid any possible injuries.
