Hey, I found a mudsnake in my yard today. i would not advise taking thes out of the wild, i only did it because it woould probably die if I didnt. theres no water for about a half mile and the snake is a baby. theres alot of busy roads it would have to cross to get to any water. so anyways I need help with them, setup to keep him in, feeding, and anything else. any help is appreciated.

Mudsnakes are nearly impossible to keep in captivity, owing to their highly specialized diet. For most, that means 100% Amphiumas, which are aquatic salamanders similar to Sirens. Unless you can supply a steady diet of these, there's not much point in trying to keep a Mudsnake. I've heard of a few(VERY few)that had been conditioned to eat fish or frogs, but I've never seen one eat such a meal myself, and I'd imagine that this would be 1 in a million that does so. My advice would be to take this one down to water hole or swamp and release it unless you're able to obtain those "Conger Eels" on a regular basis.
