We may not have a large variety of herps here but at least I don't have to watch what I might be stepping on or near. I'd like to be the one to rediscover rattle snakes again in Maine... but at the same time that discovery would forever change the "no worries" view when I was out and about.
Cool as always Dan.
Gerry
Thanks Gerry!

I'll be posting my EOY post as well, as soon as I can set aside 3 hours to put it together! LOL

I'm glad you like them.
That post of yours above is just awesome!

The milks forum is the fast one, but they all seem to die off for a while.

Waves. End of summer is a slow time. Holiday season is also a slow time and early summer is a slow time. Right now a lot of folks are prepping for either breeding to hibernation so they are busy. Also hunting season, and we have a great many hunters in the group. Right around Xmas things will slow as well. People traveling and spending time with families.
Forums are very dependent on peoples time to commit.

I always wondered what is the rough percentage of daily non member surfers that just look at pics like dans and/or just read a few posts VS. logged in members that actually post, to say.. the milksnake forum.

Off hand I am not sure. I will say lovely photo posts such as this one do get an extra bump with promotions because they go well as promotions on our social media outlets. I have had people from our FB page ask where Dan has been. This is a post that attracts a wide variety of folks. Where as some of the specific forums, especially certain colubrid areas, where locale is a big topic will get a less diverse crowd. Both may get the same hits in a day but this will attract more unique hits and the milk forum will generate possibly more repeat visitors.
I keep pythons and can count on one hand how often I have field herped. I am an unapologetic deli cupper. But I fully appreciate the field herping and the photos in the wilds. My species is never represented but I LOVE looking thru the pics.

Very nice pics of a bunch of really nice specimens...as always. I don't think anyone in the U.S. spends as much time in the field as you do. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!

Dan
Thanks for posting.

Thanks for looking!

Dan
Awesome pics as usual. Over how many herping days were those taken? I loved the shot of the eagle.
The forums has a bit inactive lately. I'm leaving for Thailand in 8 days, and should get some good pics in my two weeks there.
Thanks Andy!
That was 3 times out.
