Where to learn about various Carpets

reptileszz Nov 05, 2010 08:04 AM

Hi all, I have been thinking about getting a carpet python of some sort for a little while now. I was quite taken with what I think were some Jaguars (I dont think they were Jag/coastals or anything) at the NARBC show at Tinley. I was told they are pretty tame to start and will tame down readily. Since then I have been trying to gather some info but my head is spinning from all the various subspecies, and morphs out there. Some people tell me that coastals are aggressive, then someone else says, no its the Jags that are nippy...

I guess my question is, is there somewhere online that you all recommend where I can see a good representation of the different varieties of carpets out there with some sort of basic info about each?

Thanks for any assistance,
Carole

I would check out Australian Addiction, Inland Reptile, etc....

Most of the jags at Tinley were costal jags.

Hey Carole,

Anthony Caponetto has a great breakdown that I use to refer folks to the breakdown in the species as well as a great basic care sheet.
AC carpet info.

Thanks Cindy! I actually found his page yesterday and also another one with some really good descriptions. I am finally getting a handle on what I think I am looking for.

Thanks!
