smooth front water temp. requirements.

tomcovert Nov 09, 2010 04:02 PM

I have been on several sites for care of dwarf caimen and they are all inconclusive on the proper temp. for smooth front caimen. I would just like a stright forward answer on what temp works best with under 1 ft. neos.
My secondary issue is that they will only hit (feed) on fish, earth worms and sometimes crickets but will not touch a f/t or even live pinkey for the life of them and im worried about them not getting enough calcium due to if i dust the crickets or worms it washes right off if they hit the water.....any help will be welcome.....Tom

For my spectacled caiman I keep the water in the 80s and I believe the dwarfs are the same. I would put the mouse on the land and leave it there over night. If that doesn't work try fresh killed or like pinkies. Do not handle or poke the mouse at him to stress out ( not saying you are).
