At what age/weight do angolans breed?

I see ads on KS for 2008 and 2009 animals saying almost breeding weight. Here is a photo of my 2010 on a scale. Do males need to be 1000 grams plus or is mine just packing on the weight faster than some others since he is already on f/t small rats.
