They're not all fat, look at this skinny little guy

We took our friend Kristy & her daughters out for a look along the river. It was thier 1st time out looking for snakes in the wild. They loved it & just might be hooked.

No Dan thank you, for all your great photo essays. I find it hard to believe you're going out this late in the season and still finding herps. You are in Montana right?

The year I lived in West Yellowstone we were butthole deep in snow by now.

Yeah Montana. I was herping up until a week ago. It snowed here yesterday & today, & we'll be into the single digets by the weekend.

I'll I've seen this month are some leopard frogs and a few sceloporus...no snakes, no cnemmies, no horned lizards *sigh*

Now that sounds like the Montana winters I remember. I was a x country ski guide in W. Yellowstone so snow was kind of important to our business. Still was a lot of wildlife to see.

Your photo of the hawkmoth larva on your finger is still my desktop, so damn surrealistic even Dali would be envious.
