Well, a pre-ov shed wouldn't really give you anything to go by. Generally you're wanting to notice a post ovulation shed, because then you know the female has ovulated, where a pre ov. shed could only give a loose time frame because by definition, the ovulation hasn't occured yet. I haven't had consistent post ovulation sheds like occurs in BCI, but they do happen. Dumerils do tend to have a pre-lay shed though closer to giving birth. Gestation seems to be around 4 1/2 months. If you put a date down for this shed, and your female didn't actually ovulate until Feb. you'd easily add over 2 months onto your assumed gestation period. I think that happens a lot when you hear people saying the gestation for Dumerils is 9 months.
Ah, thankyou so much for the info. I have searched and find much on the internet about breeding this species. Does a female that is about 5 ft in length with a girth of around 9 inches sound big enough to be breeding? I have linked a pic so you all could see what she looks like. She is in a 55 gallon tank for perspective on her size.

She looks ready to breed IMO. Keep them going until you're sure she's gravid and you shouldn't have any problems. Keep us posted.
