Extreme Giants

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving Tegu Fans,

My nearly ten year old Langerwef Argentine tegu met with a very unfortunate and accidental demise. As Bert is no longer with us to produce his wonderful teugs, I am looking for a another quality tegu breeder.

The extreme giant Chacoan Argentines of Varn Yard Herps quiclky caught my eye. Does anyone have any thoughts, comments or experience with these tegus or Varn Yard?

I'd love to see some photos of some adult extreme giants!

Sincerely,

Brian

I have a black and white from Varnyard that is my favorite tegu and I had a red from him as well that was an excellent specimen. I would highly recommend him as a breeder and friend of Bert.

I have a large outdoor summer cage for my tegu. In his summer cage he cold dig burrows, get dirty search for his food and get lots of natural sunlight. I usually pull him back indoors around Columbus Day before it gets too cold. He is usually dug down about 4 feet with a nest.

This year I waited too long and it got too cold. The funny thing is that he didn't dig a burrow. He was just hiding under a piece of debris that he likes. I think if he dug down he wold have been OK. I have an idea about why he didn't....but it's likely just my fault to being late.

Sincerely,

Brian

Bobby's a GREAT GUY with GREAT TEGUS. I had one of Bert's reg b/w tegus and it passed. I got one of Bobby's Extreme Giant Males (Blizard x Sugar pairing) this summer and LOVE IT. It's, hands-down, the GREATEST reptile I've EVER owned (I've been doing this for 23 years now). I read your post last week and it actually inspired me to look into getting a female Extreme (which I ordered and am receiving today, so THANK YOU for the kick in the pants--it was his last female, I believe, so your timing was perfect).

Again, you cannot go wrong ordering from Bobby--quality animals and, just as important, quality customer service (I've emailed Bobby a couple of times with random tegu questions / issues and he had always ended up CALLING me on the phone within a day's time).

DO IT!

Thank you. His animals are expensive so hearing those praise helps me beleive that I made the right move in laying down a deposit.

I went through the same thing--350 bucks for a baby lizard is a LOT of money (at least for me). But honestly, you get a lot of peace of mind by purchasing with Bobby. Not to mention, he's the ONLY guy in the world breeding these guys (at least for now)--you've got yourself a very interesting, rare animal coming your way.
