I had several Coleonyx a few years ago, seeing them recently has been few and far between. When this pair was posted I ignored that I couldn't really afford them and paid out the money. Am glad I did, to me they are as beautiful as any leopard I've ever seen. Hope you like them!

Let me know what you think. The color / while balance is off in the pics, sorry about that part.

I have a captive bred pair of these beauties. They are in a 30 gallon breeder tank with a lot of rockwork and a humus-filled small deli container with a hole in the lid. Any hints on inducing them to make little gex?

I keep my brevis pairs together year-round, but cool them somewhat for about six weeks each winter (temps in the 50s). As soon as I turn the heat back on, they're at it.

I get NUMEROUS 2-egg clutches from each pair from March through the summer, but I've yet to hatch any eggs! I often find them too late (already dried out) or have my incubation parameters out of whack (closest I came was a couple of late-term dead-in-egg babies, likely due to being too humid).

A vendor at the Richmond show this past October had two females, but was unable to find a male after a great time of searching. They seem to be the same subspecies or even same animals you have! Might need to watch their weight. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

That's funny, the person who got those has them on Craigslist. I've really thought of getting them. From the pic I saw, and that they were at a show, I think they are C.mitratus, the central american banded. Oh, now you've got me thinking of them again, when I've been virtually lizard free for years !
