C. niloticus/ C. porosus

Curious Nov 28, 2010 06:55 PM

I am aware that the natural range of C. porosus (Salties) and C. niloticus (Nile crocs) do not overlap but I am wondering if there are any accounts of captiving inter breeding of these two species and what was the outcome? If not, surprised why it has not been tried yet.

Looking for some educated opinions. Thanks in advance.

If it did work, what would be the benefit?

No benefit that I can think of but I am curious if it is (a) possible and (b) characters of the offsprint and (c) to see pictures of the offspring.

I'd be realy surprised if someone had not tried to breed them before.

Btw, if you know of any sites that talk about this or any experts (email) please share.
