worried about "tangled"?

po Nov 29, 2010 08:53 AM

as a rescue, I am worried about how many little kids are going to want a chameleon after seeing the movie. Not that I don't want kids to get into herps, but as we know, these are not the easiest for beginners, and worried about how many will be bought as an impulse (especially with he holidays coming up)and then will either die sadly, or passed on to rescues like mine who are already pretty full.

Two things, first I think this statement would be great on our blog section! More people than cham folks will see it and perhaps you can reach out to others.

Ok next thing, over all chams are not in the price range of what I see as disposable animals. Over the 15 years I have been doing rescue, I have seen a handful of chams come thru, but not much. I do think to some extent we will be safe with their initial investment cost of the animal. Of course a chunk of places still sell wild caught cheap, but I really dont suspect we will see a major hike.
