Nothing works as well as pellets (feline pine or cellsorb plus)
And to me aspen shavings do not work as well as pine shavings. (and cost more)

I use shavings now. I did use cellsorb plus for a while but got lazy and it (at the time) was hard to get shipped consistently from the manufacturer. I don't know retail cause I always got it cost or in trade. I know there are a lot of similar products out there now. And actually if you went to pelleted pine I would say get to a tractor supply or the like and get equine pine....$5 a bag..same as feline pine but again, cheaper. It is what we use for the ferret and kitten. Can also just use rabbit pellets...alfalfa food....cheap and works, not as nice as cellsorb but way cheaper. Downside is it will mildew if left in wet clumps. Upside is it is healthier for pups and the smaller pellets makes it seem more comfortable.
