Good old Jake the Snake

Remember him? I used to love the man, back in the day
I was watching an old video where he shows a bunch of snakes (in the 80's) and i realised he actually holds - unless i didn't see quite right - a bateater (?)
Could i be wrong?

i agree it isn't that long of a look but it does look like a bateater to me.
