paulsoni breeding

Aaron1 Jan 06, 2011 09:39 AM

Hey everyone. I had a question about breeding. I have three pairs of paulsoni which I just put together (pairs are separated). How long should I leave them together? I have never done this before. I did cool them for six weeks by dropping their nighttime temp to 60. I brought it back up to 80 during the day. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Aaron

Last year I introduced the male to the female 2 times, each for about 5 days. I observed copulation within 10 mins of the first introduction.

Best of luck,
Chris

Not to hijack Aarons thread but am I likely to have luck putting together a pair. The girl is a monster WC female, got as an adult in 06 and she randomly dropped stillborns 8 months through a year later. She hasn't done this is lately and she has beefed up really well.

My male is an 03 that is maybe two feet. Grew him up from a neonate. The sole survivor of a heatwave that summer. I bought 6, fiddled with getting them to eat, found salamanders...then 100 degrees in my living room one day and we were down to one.It was horrid.
He is a great eater....just looks tiny compared.

Oddly too. As a baby he was a eggshell white and grey....as he has matured he got redder and now is dark red and brown. Is this usual?

Color change in Candoia paulsoni is common. I have had drab grey individuals turn orange and even purplish....
