Compact UVB Bulb

I am looking into a UVB light source for my young sulcata and I have read reviews that say compact UVB bulbs cause eye problems in reptiles. Does anyone have experience or verification that this is true? It would be a lot easier for me to use a compact rather than a tube but I dont want any negative effects.
