Leioheterodon madagascariensis breeding?

copper89 Jan 11, 2011 03:43 PM

Hi i have a pair of Leioheterodon madagascariensis, I have had them for about 5 years there both close to five foot each, they have been together for the past five years but i cant seem to get them to breed. I was hoping someone on this sight would be able to give me some pointers. Both are eating and are deffianently a male and a female. I keep my room around 85 degrees.

I managed to get eggs for the first time just yesterday. They need to be cycled. I kept mine on heat, but let the room temp drop to low 60's or upper 50's. For me they also bred late (late June, early July) and eggs in early August. She went almost three weeks after her pre-lay shed before laying her eggs. Good body weight is also important, especially for the female.

Best of luck!
