A little of my collection DUW

PHFaust Jan 17, 2011 12:30 PM

I am always struck by the color variety in the normals and I finally took some shots this week while cleaning.

Almost all of these snakes came in as rescues. So I have no history on most of them.
Male one, confiscated in Illegal ownership. Came in healthy and beautiful. Probably my fave of this group.

Male two, from a SEVERE neglect case in a petstore. Yep, we have very hard water!

I love this female too, the belly has blue colors. It comes across more grey in these shots. Owner surrender at a shelter.

Newest female. she was abandoned in an eviction. Still working on getting her weight up, but she is eating well now that we have cleared up her URI. Her head shape is very different. Not the short blunt, but a more elongated head. You can see it in the second pic.

Of course the token Make Jungle. Bought last year. Lazik/VPI Lines

Seven, 4 year old JCP owner surrender, also Lazik/VPI lines. Oddly enough from same breeder lines that I purchased the other one from. He came in right around our 7 year wedding anniversary.

Lastly my 75% IJ-Jag from Psychotic Exotics (yep Kerry King)bred from Het Granite male to 50% IJ Jag female

I have some others, but these were the ones I was playing with the most this week. Just wanted to show the kids off.

Very nice looking group. Kind of sad to think they were rescues but good to know they are in good hands now.

Your IJ jag is sweet.

Great collection of morelia, and it's even cooler knowing that many of them were rescued from bad situations. I work at a large chain pet store that sells reptiles and I've expanded my collection quite a bit just buying and bringing home the animals that are doing poorly and getting them back to good health. It's amazing how flippant people will treat ball pythons, leopard/crested geckos and corn snakes simply because they think they are "icky."

When a guinea pig or teddy bear hamster looks sick, it goes to the vet immediately, but young leopard geckos will be left in their cage with a gut full of calci-sand to wither away because they can't eat, while the employees just keep dumping crickets into the cage every day.

Sorry about the rant Love that Kerry King jag, my room mate has one that looks quite similar that came from psych exotics, maybe the same clutch.

Cheers on the rescues-the majority of my collection came from deplorable conditions as well. It is amazing how well and beautiful these animals can be even after being neglected and treated like a piece of trash-keep fighting the good fight!
