As far as I know, U.S. fish and wildlife will not issue permits. I know many have tried recently and can't get permits....but, it may be who you know.

toffeeman Jan 19, 2011 04:06 AM

i tried wildlife and fisheries a couple of year ago and was told no chance of getting permits unless you were part of a zoo or somekind

You would need to become a cities certified breeder so you could get your captive bred animals downlisted from cities 1 to cities 2 and you could export them to any countrys but the US because we still have the esa. theoreticly it might be possible to send them to someone with a cbw for that species. This is all just theoretical tho getting cities certification is so difficult, time consuming and costly as to not really be worth it unless you are farming alot of animals.

Extreemosaurus Jan 24, 2011 04:35 AM

no problem.. all will have micro-chips photo-id and Cites papers... =)

cychluraguy Jan 25, 2011 04:15 PM

Do you need cities permits to send around the EU? Are you a cities certified breeder? I was looking into becoming one to send cubans to europ and asia but it seemed like alot of trouble and hassle.

yes you do still need cites paperwork and microchips to send them round europe,im not a certified cites breeder but its the lewisi im after not cubans i have 3 pairs of them

Extreemosaurus Jan 26, 2011 05:40 AM

The rest of the world including all american countries(except USA) need to have cites papers and/or chips/photo ID... its Illegal to sell or own any CITES I animal without paperwork(unless you bought them not knowing any better).. so yes all cyclura fiji iguanas etc in the rest of the world that are legal have to have CITES papers.. However we do not need to be certified CITES breeders if we own legal stock with EU-CITES to be able to breed and sell our animals.. At least not in sweden...

The problems u face in the states are because of illegal ancestry and the lacy act.. from what i understand..

For example i can ship my cyclura to canada within a month without any problems at all.. but i wouldnt even try to ship to the USA... its impossible unless it to a zoo or recovery program..
i have even shipped cyclura to Iran without any problems at all.. took less than 2 weeks for all the papers all and all...

This is my pure lewisi female bred in Europe with CITES.

toffeeman Jan 26, 2011 06:36 AM

are your lewisi of juergen and what kind of price were they do you no what % lewisi they are see if you can get some better pics in the light for us ehsan

Extreemosaurus Jan 26, 2011 07:50 AM

yes its jurgens ... he said that they are pure...directly imported from GC by an private collector in the 70's.. and he knows exactly how this line has been bred since then.. mine is only second generation EU CB.. Jurgens breeders are first generation EU CB.. so unless they are "wild hybrids" they should be pure... some say that they did find some hybrids in the wild because of some caymanensis being released on the islands in 40-50's but those hybrids where are like 99% and look 100% if they do exist??? who knows?..
i mailed you the price before.. ???? its about the same price as figginsi... i will try to take some pics.. but its very hard to catch the colour on cam.. one pic turns out to be good out of a 100 photos...
And some guy from somekind of iguana protection program looked at jurgens animals and said that they do look 100% pure.. dont remember who or what organisation it was LOL
