Tortoise environment change

I have a very very large Salcata Tortoise and took in rescue from a aquintance. Their Tortoise has not been well kept. Severe pyramiding and very poor diet and conditions. So far I can not get him to eat.

I NEED ADVISE. It has been 5 days without eating food or water. Should I wait him out, give him back?? Does he not eat out of fear or illness? Should he be seperated from the large one or given a different bowl to eat from like a dog?/// I have tried placing him on the food, bathing then placing him on the food, Cutting up the food, mixing in some of his previous poor diet (romaine) with our high nutritious meal.

HELP PLEASE

Hello, hope your torts doing better by now, either way you must seperate them. NEVER put a new tort in with yours till you are certain its healthy and parasite free(stool). As far as the new one, is it larthargic? does it move around? discharges? Dehydrated? If the tort does not appear to be healthy with normal behavior I would recommend bringing it to a vet asap. If it does come up with something make sure you tell the vet yours was exposed to it. Good luck and hope it works out for you and the torts!
