Is it ok for my rhino iguana Sam to eat some grass? He was out in the yard the other day and started to munch down on some grass and it got me wondering if this was ok? The grass is not treated with anything what so ever. Suggestions?

I agree you are fine. What occurred to me when I read this post was, Isnt that something you might want to think about before you let your lizard on the grass?
what if it wasnt fine?

Most if not ALL iguanas are grazers. They spend the majority of the time in the wild grazing on grasses and other plants close to the ground. Especially Cycluras, which are mainly a ground dwelling species. The only thing you need to worry about is herbicides, insecticides and fertilizers that may be present as well as small trash items that maybe present on the ground which the iguana may pick up due to curiosity. They sometimes also eat small rocks and dirt from the ground which I believe is the way they compensate for lack of minerals and digestive probiotics lacking in their man-made diet.
