Probe location during incubation

raguii Feb 04, 2011 07:03 PM

I'm incubating my first cluch of BD eggs. My question is where do you guys keep the temp probe, Just inside the incubator or in a container with the eggs? Also what temp? I would think it would be a degree or two warmer outside the container then inside. Just wondering if there is a diffrence.

never bred bearded dragons but for corn snake egg incubation, I just put the probe on the shelf beside the deli dish. Temps inside the deli dish aren't that much different than the inside of the incubator right beside it. At least till the incubator is opened...heat can escape quickly depending on how long the door is opened and the temperature of the room the incubator is in.

Dragon eggs if I recall correctly should be incubated around 82-85F
