adding a misting system

snakeylo Feb 11, 2011 10:36 AM

I am looking into adding an automatic misting system for my arboreal boas and pythons and was wondering which brands do best. what have you used and how well did they work? I currently house My ATBs and ETBs and GTPS in Barrs acrylic cages with drains built into the bottoms. There was a crude mist system there based on a garden sprayer but it did not work up to my expectations and now I want to upgrade. any info will be greatly appreciated Thank you

Look into the Rainmaker Mists systems offered by Ecologic. They are pretty top notch systems.

The most important part is the pump and nozzles. You can buy the rest at any hardware store. The nozzles are important to get the rate, I won't begin to guess what is best for you but there is information out there specific to to what you are housing.

The pump is also important, you want one that can run dry, as inevitably we all at some point forget to check the water. Also you want one that is self priming. It's also important to find a pump capable of supply all your nozzles. If you have 50 cages you don't want a pump designed for 4.

Best of Luck
