I used styrofoam sheets as well as "Great Stuff". Once I had my shape, I coated everything in sand colored tile grout, and then clear tile sealant. Yeah I found your blog shortly after I posted, when I read the thread here about your ball python cage.

Looks good nice fix on the crack BTW.
