Pyro Feeding Advice Needed

Chris_C Feb 16, 2011 02:59 PM

I have had an Arizona Mountain Kingsnake since mid-December. He is about 14" long and is 18 months old. I have been feeding him one small pinkie about every 5-6 days and he always eats eagerly. Is this feeding schedule/amount adequate for a snake of his age and size? Since I'm inexperienced with pyros I would appreciate any advice.

Thanks!

If he is on a good heat source, you can feed them every three days in my opinion. A good rule of thumb to follow is once he craps, he has digested the meal and is ready for another one. This is a general rule. Some animals may not be able to eat this often. If the animal regourges the meal, that is a sign to slow down.
