Alright, here's the deal. I received a couple Dumerils today and the female is one of the darkest Dumerils I've seen. I WILL get pictures on here tomorrow. Well, I just got home from work so it is tomorrow but I haven't went to bed yet, so make that today when I wake up and get time. So, what's the darkest Dumerils you have, lets see some pics. I'm thinking maybe she's an IMG Dumerils and I'll be able to sell her babies for thousands of dollars and quit my job!!! Okay, not really, she's just dark and most would probably say ugly, but it's weird-I like it! So, show me the UGLY!!!! LOL, I need sleep. Oh yeah, I will be searching for the darkest male I can find now to breed to her and see how they turn out. Dark?

Here's a side by side, I'm no photographer, so this seemed like the easiest method.

Hey PBM,This pink one I have is quite dark. Its like she has an over-lode of all pigment. Her blacks are very black and most areas that are usually white are filled in with pink.I've tried but can't seem to capture her true colors jenni/

That is actually really cool. I'm guessing the colors showing up more in the background are more accurate? I could see where the pink was in the typically white areas around the saddles. Very cool. The more of us out here doing selective breeding, the better off I think we're going to be in the long run. That female has a lot of potential!!! A little hyper-pigmented in all areas. It's too bad we can't raise some of these project animals up as quick as they do ball pythons, lol. The waiting is terrible sometimes.

Hey PBM,So here are a couple shots of my other female" Dolly ".She's pretty dark, but she's no spring chicken. She's my favorite dumerils and probably the best snake I have.Never tried to bite me and seems genuinly happy to be here.I had a question about dumerils sometimes being found on the African mainland-I've heard or read this several times in the past and wondered if there's any truth in this-or what your thoughts are.I like your side by side picture.I want to try it as well, but none of my dumerils have met each other so I'm a little scared.Squares on the bed spread are 11" thanks jenni/

She's got a good "classic" look to her. As far as Dumerils found in Africa, I honestly haven't read any reports and it seems like Reunion is a stretch to find valid reports on as well. Admittedly though, I haven't looked into it very much. I did read something years ago that somewhat debunked the locality of Reunion, but I can't remember what it was or exactly what was mentioned. I think it was basically saying there is no established population there just maybe wayward drifters, lol.

Here's a photo of my darkest female. Her belly is darker than my other Dumeril's too, with more black and gray speckling than my other Dums. She's 4 years old and about 4 ft - I think she's going to keep getting darker as she gets older.
