Question about breeding.

zachs_dragons Feb 22, 2011 01:31 AM

I have 4 females 1 male. Males a Hypo clear nail het trans with light blue bars. 3 normal females and 1 pastel.

They are all in the same tank and I've slowly acumulated them from October on. Since then, I have only had 2 clutches laid. Is there something I can do to increase "productivity". I have already brumated them but can I isolate the male and 1 female like snakes? Give him alone time with each female? Or would that not work?

Any input helps! Thanks in advanced everyone!

Zach

you need another male at least. Isolate the males and only allow 1 day congical visits with a 2 day break.

How big is the cage you have? 5 dragons is quite alot of dragons to have in a communal cage. If over crowded, high stress levels could be preventing some females from producing eggs.

Also, how is the cage setup? perhaps some females are laying clutches in the substrate which you just haven't found?

Personally I would separate all the dragons into separate cages...or at most, have two females with one male...if they get along.
