That is a Russell's Viper (Vipera r.russelli) aka Daboia and Tic-Polonga. they are EXTREMELY dangerous and account for more fatalities than just about any other snake in that part of the world.
Their bites cause massive necrosis!

Thank you!!!!!!

I told him I thought it was some type of viper, because of the triangle shaped head. But I didn't know enough about vipers to be able specify which kind. ^_^

which is the acceptted genus right now do you know? Lots of my literature (including some decently recent stuff, like circa 2003) refers to it and the palestine viper as belonging to Daboia instead of Vipera.
Palestinian vipers are awesome...like a bigger, melanistic Russels...I want!

We wouldn't have 6 and a half billion people if you had to be beautiful to get laid.
6.6 African House snakes
3.2 reticulated pythons
.1 corn snake
4.2 Florida Kings
1.2 speckled kings
1.2 ball pythons
0.0.1 Argentine boa
They probably are currently classified as "Daboia" now. Most of my literature here is older.
