Pinson Line Dumerils

PBM Mar 01, 2011 12:17 PM

After Tom passed away his wife Jazmyn sent me an e-mail asking if I would be interested in the Dumerils. I already have 5 Dumerils here from Tom's adults and they're all top shelf Dumerils! I asked Jazmyn if she would mind me labeling these as Pinson Line and she gave me the okay. So, here is a quick pic of the female that is from here on out going to be known as the start of the Pinson Line Dumerils. The following post will be a picture of one of her babies. This pair of Dumerils has produced some of the best looking Dumerils I've seen. If you see Pinson Line Dumerils for sale in the future, act quick!!! RIP Tom!!!

Another one, this one shows the color a little better.....remember I take horrible pictures!!! The head looks funny in this pic, but it's just the angle or something because it's normal in person.

Thanks Pat,Hope you and your animals are doing well. Now that its March I guess tons of folks around the world will be enjoying your report in Reptile magazine. Thanks again jenni/

PBM Mar 04, 2011 12:51 AM

Okay, lol, she's okay then. You know what though, she'd go back up a notch in status in this empty cage I've got here, lol. I've got a male or two that would go well with her. Alright just kidding, she's still a sweet lookin girl, put me on the waiting list!!! I figure if ball keepers can keep as many as they do, I can keep all the Dumerils I want right?

liljenni Mar 04, 2011 01:03 AM

Hey PBM,Thanks she's from a "high orange" line, but she's the pinkest one Iv'e ever seen.I was hoping you could post some pics of your orange ones, and maybe some more Pinson pics too.jenni/

PBM Mar 04, 2011 01:27 AM

Well, I am working on doing that. I just asked someone yesterday that knows how to work a camera if they'd come out and take pics once it's nice enough outside. They said yes, so hopefully in a couple weeks I'll have some pics that really represent the animals to post.

liljenni Mar 04, 2011 01:56 AM

Weird-me too,I just asked my sister, she has super nice cameras and knows how to use them-but yea its cold here. How many Dums are you up to now? jenni/

PBM Mar 04, 2011 02:39 AM

LOL, do you really want a number? I've got to atleast make this interesting. Put out a guess to start with, it'll be fun to see how many you're thinking I have. I'll give you a couple hints-Double digits, not triple-and it's a number very close to my age. Now I get to see how old you think I am too, haha. Take a guess and I'll go take a head count because I'm not sure exactly!

liljenni Mar 04, 2011 03:17 AM

Dear PBM,I thought you were taking this whole dumerils thing too seriously when I asked about the Toliara morph-and you said you actually talked to the guy!Thought maybe Pat Higdon and I should stage some sort of intervention. No wonder your building rat racks.Again I'm just talking dums-not all your snakes.I think I'm gonna sleep on it but I'll guess tomorrow-well later today. Thanks jenni/

PBM Mar 04, 2011 04:22 AM

LMAO, it's just something I've been doing for quite a while. I have kept Dumerils over half my life, starting in High School. The first Dumerils I saw for sale were in a pet store for $1,100.00 EACH! I can tell you for sure, it's nothing compared to some of the ball python collections I've seen and some of those people have just started out. You sleep on it while I get prepared for my intervention. By the way, I'm 36.....and it's somewhere around there.

liljenni Mar 04, 2011 04:11 PM

Dear PBM,OCD can be cured-just take these pretty pink pills(side affects may include blurred vision, increased risk of cancer, swelling of the face and neck, tremors, difficulty urinating, hair loss, coma and death.)At first I thought like 10-14 as I assumed you kept some of the better offsping. My guess is 32? jenni/

PBM Mar 05, 2011 02:32 AM

Candoia!!! I think I have A.D.D. too oh noooo's! Look a butterfly.

liljenni Mar 05, 2011 03:33 AM

Thanks for posting more pictures, very impressive and educational.Yea, sorry about the SIGB I'm out of pics you havn't seen already.jenni/

PBM Mar 05, 2011 01:15 PM

That's cool though, how many do you have? I have a handful of them myself. Here's a tiny little proven female.
Image

liljenni Mar 05, 2011 03:06 PM

OOO,Nice one,it's hard to believe she's a mom.I have a male twice her size.Pictured is an "Ambon-boa"-they are probably candoia carinata tasmai but they seem more a cross between tasmai and carinata carinata.I have 3 of those-2 males,1 fem.with a beautiful white-tipped tounge WC.Five SIGB,These are supposedly much more closely related to dumerals than boa constrictor.Well back again to London, read my book Stolen World jenni/

PBM Mar 05, 2011 03:44 PM

You wrote that book? That's very cool, the Dumerils forum is full of authors, lol. I will order your book today! That female produced 5 babies and I only bred her because my daughter noticed follicles one day. So, I was actually able to monitor follicle growth, ovulation, post ovulation shed and approx. 5 months later birth. I'll throw some more pics up of mine and would love to see yours. Back to London? If you're traveling, have a safe trip!!!

liljenni Mar 05, 2011 05:08 PM

Dear PBM,Sorry,no I did not.And I did not think you would. It sounds like did and again I'm very sorry.I was only joking.jenni/

PBM Mar 05, 2011 06:11 PM

Well, I just checked and there it was....my pic next to gullible in the ol' dictionary. LOL, now I'm just confused but I'm used to it.

liljenni Mar 05, 2011 08:31 PM

Dear PBM,Again I'm sorry.Jokes are supposed to be funny, and that wasn't.Tricking people is easy if your lying. You've been the most helpful person on this -sort of sad site.Look, how good could a book about Tom Crutchfield be anyway?I'm just going to think of this(the the longest thread in kingsnake history)as a tribute to Tom Pinson.I think he was working with my favorite snakes-eastern hognose. They're gettig exceedingly rare in the wild and they are beautiful. The last one I saw was in front of my house in Virginia. My next door neighbors had run over it on purpose. It was a perfect mimic of a copperhead.thank you jenni/

PBM Mar 05, 2011 10:19 PM

No need for sorry, lol. It didn't bother me at all, rather I thought it was funny-you got me!!! Tom did work with some really nice hognose snakes, but with the permit system required here, they're something I never got into. I really hope I can produce a good number of animals from all of my Pinson Lines and get them out there into other keepers collections. I still have to talk more with Jazmyn about exactly where it will go, but I plan on just donating any sales to a charity that Tom would've been interested in. If Jazmyn doesn't give me something concrete, I'll probably just donate any money to breast cancer research since that's so prevelant in our families. So, don't feel bad at all for your joke, it was funny, especially since you got me on the line easily lol.

liljenni Mar 10, 2011 05:07 AM

Hey PBM,,Got your nice e-mail thanks.Overheard a funny story at a reptile store, some old guy was relaying to the owner. He had mail- ordered a twelve foot mamba from Tom Crutchfield. He kept all his snakes out in a barn.He took the box out to the barn to open it.Either the snake wasn't double boxed or bagged,so when he opened the box this mamba chased him around the barn for like an hour.Ok so I guess you had to be there.Put my little male(dagger) in with my big female on monday. They seem afraid of each other. She is big enuf to digest him. They are still together no problems but no mating either.Photo is of a large male paulsoni. Thanks for the nice pictures.jenni/
