so I have been looking for new cages for my snakes. The two I have are constrictor northwest but don't make the ones I have anymore. What's you opinion on repti-rack cages? I was looking at them. The cages I have have double drop down doors but have heard good things about sliding. They say they can put sliding acrylic doors for an extra six bucks. Any opinions? The price seems right... Look similar to cages I have.

I love sliding doors. I like glass better than acrylic. I've used drop down doors before but i don't like having to open the whole cage at once. If it is BPs it isn't a big deal, but some of the larger elipids like to shoot out at you.

yea I agree but thats why when I went down with drop down doors I went with the double so I didnt have to open the whole cage. They only offer acrylic I figure it starts to warp I could always get glass cut for new doors if I decide that way. I just havnt had anyone get sliding doors from them so was wondering how they are on their cages. I keep Redtails in them and one problem with drop downs is they like wrapping their tail around the door when trying to get them in or out and fall on them and am always afraid they are going to break them.....

I have a few of their colubrid-sized cages. Excellent quality, I am very pleased.

Can't comment on sliding acrylic doors - I only have drop-down doors, and the slide-door cage I have uses glass doors.

I am now between repti-basics or the animal plastics..... the reason is the glass sliding doors they have.. just a little nervous about the putting it together and the 1/2 inch material heating with heat mat or heat tape any opinions?
