MY New Rhino Iguana and its cage .

UtahRob Mar 05, 2011 03:08 PM

Hello , new guy here but not new to owning reptiles . A little back ground on me . Reptiles have always been my passion even though my wife and many friends think i am crazy . 6 years ago when we still lived in Californian i owned a Sulcata tortoise that was 68 lbs . In 2005 my mother had a stroke and we did not want to put her in care facility , so we sold our home and my tortoise and moved to Utah, bringing my mother with us , so i went from a truck driver (26 years )to a full time care giver over night . She passed away last year .And i decided to stay retired at 53 . A few weeks ago i decide i wanted another reptile and always wanted a Rhino Iguana and i now do . The ? i have is do i need to add anther 5.0 UV light on the other end of this cage like i have or should i get a 48''long bulb or two ? This cage is 8' long and 3 ' wide .

Here is a video of the cage and thanks for any input !!

Sorry can't get the Video to work . ?? Can you post videos ?

I have 4 domes on top one with a ceramic 150 watt bulb on the far right that runs 24/7. Then on the lift is ReptiSun 5.o UVB tropical ( small compact ) with two SunGlow basking lights on each side over the bashing area , both 100W . They keep the basking area at 102 -106 . The rest of the cage is , in the Middle 90 and the right side 83 /- . My ? is should i put a Longer 5.0 UVB bulb 48'' on the right side so i have more uv light cover the whole cage .

Bob, I haven't seen your vid, but you might want to post in the Cyclura and Ctenosaura forum. I noticed no one has answered you here...

I'll watch for you there.
