Heating home made rack system?

aphorao Mar 07, 2011 11:36 AM

Hey All!

Lately I have been considering doing a rack system for horned frogs and I was wondering what you all use to heat your plastic tubs in your rack as well as how you heat them without melting the plastic? I would need to keep the plastic tubs at around 80-83 degrees. I am very new to this way of keeping reptiles. Thank you all for any advice that you can provide!

Most use Flexwatt heat tape for racks along with a remote probe thermostat like a Ranco.

Look at the KS classifieds under Supplies, Heating Pads, Tapes & Other Heating. You will find a number of dealers. Many of them will make the Flexwatt to your specs for your rack. Or you can buy the components and make them yourself.
