I have two trios of L. z. agalma and one trio of L. pyro. I heated them up on 3-1 and began coupling them yesterday. So far no action. Any suggestions? They will all be 4 years old this summer. Thanks.

No worries Carl. If the females aren't ready for the boys yet, usually they will start rattling their tail like a rattlesnake and making jerky moves to the males advances. If this happens, she is not ready. I've noticed that after the females have their first post brumation shed is usually the time they are the most receptive to breed. I would say just keep trying every few days to put the males in with the females. Good luck to you this year. Isn't it exciting? I can't wait to see what you produce.

Yes, DO give them time. They're needing to adjust to warming up and getting back to full functioning. Have they even began eating yet? This typically does not happen only after a week of slowly warming up. My recommendation is to offer the first couple meals of a SMALL prey item, as their digestive system has been down presumably for at least a couple months. Lastly, keep the males at room temperature...keeping them too warm post-brumation may compromise the production of viable sperm.

Best of luck!

Thanks for the advice guys. Two of the zonatas have eaten f/t fuzzies, one male and one female.
