I got this little toad at an expo for next to nothing.I need a bit of help.First off when should I start to worry that its not eating?
Also I have the basking at 90ish half his hide is on the basking and half off..I took these pics when I soaked him today. He is about 2 inches long.

What do you think of that tail? Is it a birth defect or injury?
How old do you think he is?
Will 1/4 crickets be small enough for him?

Also he seems to stand tall, he doesnt lay there with his belly on the ground he is always up high on his legs, it looks kinda odd.

looks OK, not great but OK.
Probably 4-6 weeks old...tail looks like a birth defect to me.
1/4" crickets will be fine. I start mine on larger ones (1/2"- just pop off the back legs) he should start eating pretty quickly if conditions are correct, babies are pretty adaptable.

Good luck,
John

Ive soaked him a few times and he seems to be doing fine.I havent seen him eat but he has pooped four times so he must have eaten.I never know for sure if the crickets find a way to climb out or if he actually ate them.
But his poops are heatlthy looking too..I always love it when a new animal eats, usually means they are adjusting.
Ive named him Toad.
