International Trade

Erlar92 Mar 07, 2011 10:54 PM

Hello!

I'm looking into buying myself a Tartar sand boa. What I'm wondering is whether there are any regulations regarding international trade of this eryx species (I live in Sweden). I couldn't find it on any of the CITES appendices so I just want to double check.

Not getting it/them until summer anyways but I like to prepare far in advance and in every way possible.

Thanks in advance!

Erik

As I recall, they are Appendix II. There are quite a few breeders of Tartars that participate in this forum. Listings pop up regularly, including some misidentified as Russians.

A few of the Eryx species are listed on CITES. E. tataricus are Appendix II.

Cheers,
Chris

all python and boa species are either Appendix I or II, with the vast majority being Appendix II.
