Which Mt King to start with

Oregonherpaholic Mar 09, 2011 09:25 PM

I would love to own a mt king.. think they are just gorgeous.. but which species would be best begginer.. Zonatas are illegal in oregon, so can only dream of them.. I have looked at Pyros and ruthies but experience is always better than a web based care sheet.

Some awesome knobs there! Jonel had some mega band babies this last season that were really nice.

My 08 trio this spring getting it on. I love pyros.

One of my '10 babies I got from a friend last fall. Love the heavy black crossovers!

Pyros a easy to keep and wonderful eye candy!

Yes, this male was one of a trio of two males and one female. The female is still for sale. A sad story about the male in the photo; he escaped and the owner has not found him yet!

Hope your female knob does better this season. She is very nice!

Thanks! He and his sister were only $25 each! I was fortunate to live close enough to drive to the breeder's house and pick them up.

Zunchara, part of the '08 trio. She was in blue while the other two mated but I expect she will also mate soon, as her blue period is almost done. So I am hoping to get two clutches of eggs this year, if all goes well.

I've never have kept a L.p.knoblochi before, but I am a fan of L.p. pyromelana. I would have to say pyros are my favorite snakes to keep in display tanks because they arn't as shy as some of the other species, But that could depend on the snake it self to. Some are just more shy then others.
Pyros Are cool!
