Green Tree Python

Idothatforme Mar 10, 2011 12:23 PM

Hello there,
I rescued a green tree python from a kid who kept it in a cold basment (50 degree temps) for about 3 weeks to a month, im not sure how long it was down there like that.
anyways i talked him into letting me take it home. it showed signs of a resp. infection, so i jacked the snakes temp up to 90 degrees for several weeks and it seemed clear up. It ate and shed twice. now i noticed today he blew a buble out of his nose... i jacked the temps back to 90 and i just made an appointment at the vet for tomorrow. any suggestions?

Definitely do the vet visit. Have them culture the trachea as that will give you the most useful information. The culture results should be back in a few days then you'll know what your treating and what antibiotics will be effective. Keep the temps up as that will help the immune system fight the infection. Best of luck.
