regular snapper & alligator snapper

roxydementia Mar 13, 2011 05:10 PM

hey, I have had a regular snapper for a while, he was bought with another one but I think he kept the other away from the food and he died, on an impulse I bought (I know I shouldn't have) an alligator snapper just a hair smaller then my common, you think they can live together? I will be home tomorrow and can keep an eye on them if there is any issues I can set up a separate tank, but would be happy if they could stay together, will need to clean filter more often, but less cage space/heating/uv/ect... to deal with

I have had two alligator snappers and a regular common snapper in a tank for over a year. They all are around 3 inchs and dont mind each other. If their food gets to close to one another then they have the chance of biting each other. As long as your cautious about that then you should be fine.
