My New Find

AllenSheehan Mar 19, 2011 08:54 PM

Found this little guy or girl while looking for colubrids. I come accross several of these every season. I decided to bring this one home as it was so young and calm. It is as most copperheads I find rather calm. It has yet to try and strike at all. It is about a foot long and I expect a 2010 baby.

Let me know what you think

I am here in mississippi and I have yet to come across a copper. I do have a pair of beautful baby cottonmouths that I have kept. They are pretty calm also, every once in awhile they hold there mouths open if they feel bothered, but they don't strike at all.

Thanks,
For some reson I am finding Copperhead everywhere this season. I have come accross at least a dozen in the Dallas area. I am currently keeping only two as they are young and very docile. A few others I have brought home, taken a few pictures, given them a free meal and let them go the next weekend. I have also kept Cotonmouths in the past and they also would calm down for me very quick as well.
