Enclosure question

bruster Mar 29, 2011 07:46 PM

A while back I built an enclosure for my larger female blood. After she passed I decided I would use it to house another female. While I was cleaning and sterilizing I notice the solution seeping between the boards, the original caulking failed. I re caulked with waterproof and paint-able caulking. I use a RHP as heat source, after letting it cure the smell is sill strong. Is the enclosure still usable?

Heat the cage (with no snake in it) to shorten the cure time. Putting in lots of crumpled newspaper or other stuff while you heat it will help absorb the smell. After a few days it will be better. Offgassing can take time. The more stuff in the cage to absorb it, the better and the quicker.
