I notice that my baby Rhino gets almost dark brown when he's sleeping and he's next to the basking light and light green when he's awake . Is that normal for them to change that much ?? I wouldn't think he is cold , its around 90 deg right there , and 119 right next to him under the basking light . ???

Thanks ,
Robert .

Never mind , i guess he's just adjusting his own temps . The last time i checked his temps ( 90 ) he was asleep and dark , so i slid the basking light over just a 1/2'' and he's still asleep but now he's lighter . I guess 90 wasn't warm enough for him ??

stop fussing! its fine. they change color cuz of temp and emotion. he is sleeping in that spot cuz it wants to. they know who to thermoregulate. Provide the correct choices and let the rhino decide. Dont make the choices for it. Your little guy will do just fine. relax.

Prepare to be patient cuz when it settles in its gonna be a spaz!
